Hey I’m Chris, a freelance software engineer.

With over a decade of experience building digital products and services, I’ve worked across various industries including fintech, advertising, logistics and video streaming with companies of all sizes ranging from early stage start-ups to big tech.

I specialise in backend development. My go to language is Ruby, although thoughout my career I have used many languages including Typescript, Python and Go and have experience picking up new ones quickly. I also know my way around modern frontend frameworks and libraries such as React and NextJS for web and React Native for mobile.

I'm a problem solver and a pragmatist who enjoys building products that bring value to peoples lives. I like writing well tested code that can be easily extended. I believe in building reliable systems and ensuring that monitoring and observability is kept front of mind as the project grows.

Originally from the UK I now live in the French Alps with my wife and daughter.
